Meet Our Founder

Corey Brinson is the founder and chief executive officer of the Second Chance Firm, LLC. Mr. Brinson works with people with criminal records who are seeking a pardon in the State of Connecticut.

Mr. Brinson brings his unique experiences in the criminal justice system to his consulting work. He has obtained and advocated for pardons for clients before the Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles.


Corey Brinson has over 15 years of professional experience in the criminal legal system. Mr. Brinson worked as lawyer at the largest law firm in Connecticut and at a national law firm in Washington, D.C. Previously, he was a candidate for Connecticut Secretary of the State and served on the Hartford City Council. He worked in New York City at a not-for-profit law firm lobbying for criminal justice reform in New York.

Mr. Brinson also served in the Connecticut Air National Guard and was stationed in Saudi Arabia on September 11, 2001.

Mr. Brinson is a graduate of UCONN Law School, having earned a law degree in 2005 and an LLM (Master of Laws) in Human Rights and Social Justice in 2021 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2023
